Closed/Delinquent Velocity

Quarterly DBPR license-delinquency (status 45/46) acceleration by cuisine, county, and market slice. Delinquency is a regulatory state, not confirmed closure.

Sandwiches leads the current closure-velocity table. Closure-and-delinquency velocity measures how fast DBPR licenses are lapsing to delinquent/inactive status (Primary Status Code 45/46) in each area. A delinquent license is a public-record regulatory state, not by itself confirmation the business has shut -- it is a much larger population than the metro Closures dimension's confirmed-closed count, which additionally requires Google/news/field corroboration. A rising rate means more licenses going delinquent per month than the historical average. This report treats velocity as rates, not raw counts -- Sandwiches at 12.0% is the metric, not 202 raw delinquent licenses.

Counts here are DBPR licenses in delinquent/inactive status (Primary Status Code 45 or 46) -- a public-record regulatory state, not a confirmed business closure. This delinquent population is much larger than the metro Closures dimension's confirmed-closed count, which additionally requires Google/news/field corroboration. A delinquent license is not by itself proof the business has shut.
